Reversing Labour Retreat pamphlet launch

What are the connections between electoral strategy and the health of the party on the ground? What measures, including the possibility of changing the voting system, might strengthen party activism and incentivise campaigning across a much broader swath of the country?

These questions are also part of the growing debate, inside and outside the Labour party, about what people want from politics and which democratic structures are most appropriate to deliver that. The party should be encouraging as wide a party and public dialogue as possible, openly evaluating all options. As a contribution to that, Labour Campaign for Electoral Reform has produced a pamphlet Reversing Labour Retreat which makes the party and the democratic case for reconsidering our targeting strategy and as a consequence our voting system. Contributors include: John Denham, Lewis Baston, Anne Campbell, Jo Dungey, Mary Honeyball and Patrick Vernon.
